Condolence card

Unfortunately I had to make a condolence card today - something none of us want to do but have to now and again.  I decided to use the lovely Marianne Designables cut and emboss - unfortunately it hasn't got a name on it but the code is DS0912 - it always reminds me of an eastern pattern.  I used Anna Marie's double sided white pearl card  which was mounted on some dark purple card (which looks blue in the photo).  I then die cut some tulips using my new Memory Box dies "Dancing Tulips" and the dies that match "Tulip Petals".  These extra petals are a little bit fiddly as they are so small but they give the flowers such extra dimension it's worth it.  I also used their "Willow Dragonfly" which is the smaller of the two dragonfly dies they have.  The sentiment is an Anita's stamp and I used Dusty Concorde DI to stamp it.  The finishing touches are a ribbon and three pearls.

 Thanks for stopping by.

Less is More - Week 56 - Don't scrap it

This week's challenge over at Less is More is to make a card using scraps.  This is a very simple card using some new Memory Box dies that I bought at Farnborough on Friday.  I have used Prim Poppies and Dancing Tulips with some scraps of red from my scrap drawer.  I've used a DL card and embossed a nestie shape into it for some focal interest.  The word is from the same card scraps using Die-Versions dies Magical and Editor in Chief font dies.

Teddy Bear for a 2 year old

Hello everyone - I was asked to make a birthday card for a 2 year old little boy who loves teddy bears so where better to turn than to Tatty Teddy on the Me to You CD.  I used this in conjunction with the Docrafts Digital Designer programme.  The base card is an 8" square scalloped blank.  The decoupaged image is mounted onto nestie shapes.  The backing paper was from the same CD.  I punched a small envelope out of pale blue vellum (for some reason it looks really dark in the photo but it's a pale colour) and made a miniature card saying Happy Birthday Kian.  The circle sentiment was produced in CraftArtist and punched using Stampin Up circle and scalloped circle.  The name was computer generated and I used the pennant punch from Stampin Up and threaded through some blue rickrack ribbon.  The final touch was a pretty organza ribbon and bow.

I have put the Linky Followers on the side bar just in case we lose our Google Friends Followers at the end of this month as I would hate to loose all my lovely followers so if you want to continue following me please pop your names on the Linky Followers; its free to join......  Lot of bloggers have done the same thing just to be on the safe side...

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great weekend.

70th Birthday card

Morning everyone - just a quick post today.  We are going up to Hampshire on Saturday to celebrate a friend's 70th birthday.  He has always been very keen on rowing and always used to attend Henley.  Soooooo - I managed to find some great images and decided to use a black and white photo of four rowers proudly holding their oars.  I took it into CraftArtist and with a little manipulation managed to extract Chris's head (from another photo) and place it over the seated rower.  Everything on this card was made using CraftArtist including the 70th badge (cut out using SU punches).  The sentiment on the front is continued on the insert and reads "but you are definitely on higher ground!"

Less is More - Week 54 - One Layer Stripes......... Card 2

I thought I'd have another go at the LIM challenge this week.  This time I cut up some strips of Eclipse masking tape, then cut a mask using nesties labels in a sheet of card.  I positioned the masking tape on the base card and the card mask over the top.  I then sponged colours from a Kaleidacolor ink pad called Melon Melody onto the card.  I removed the mask and Eclipse tape and was left with my stripes.  I thought the ideal image to use was this sunflower stamp from Papermania which I inked up with black Versafine.  The sentiment is from the same set and I used the matching inks from the Kaleidacolor ink pad.  I took a couple of photos but they didn't show the colours very well so ended up scanning the card.

Thanks for dropping by.

Less is More - Week 54 - One Layer Stripes

This week's challenge over at Less is More is a bit tricky!!! They want us to make a card which is one layer with STRIPES............. hmmmmm....

It's been a long time since I've used these but managed to dig one out of a heap and it's a paint shade card - usually called paint chips in the States - now it has to be one layer so I couldn't just add it to my card so to be a bit sneaky I cut it up into varying widths, stuck it onto card and then scanned it into my computer!!!! (Hope this is allowed!) lol  This was then printed out and made into a DL card. I've inked my SU Wonderful Words stamp with Dusty Concord DI.

Thanks for dropping by. All your comments are appreciated.

Less is More - Week 53 - Colour Challenge......... AQUA

Unbelieveably it's the first birthday over at Less is More so I'd like to wish Chrissie & Mandi

This week it's a colour challenge and that colour is:

AQUA

For this card I have used an Impression Obsession Cover-a-Card stamp called Botanical Waves - it's huge at 5.75" square but great for backgrounds.  I have stamped it onto white card using Stampin Up Taken with Teal ink and then cut it to size and triple embossed it using ultra thick embossing powder.  I then mounted onto a matching piece of card and tied an aqua ribbon around.  The sentiment is from my Stampin Up Oval All stamp set and punched using the SU oval punch and mounted up onto a piece of the triple embossed image using the scalloped oval punch.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I love hearing your comments and your time is much appreciated.
