Simon Says - Wednesday Challenge

The challenge over at Simon Says is Wedding/Anniversary and as I've just finished this anniversary card for our friends' 47th wedding anniversary I thought I'd enter.

I've used an Anna-Maria 8x8 card blank and embossed the front with an Embossalicious e/f and then cut a piece of dark gold cardstock slightly smaller than the card front and embossed it with the same e/f.  I cut a frame using nesties and used the "waste" at the back of the frame to stamp my greeting which is from Waltzingmouse Stamps.  I used my lovely Delicata GoldenGlitz ink to stamp.  I used my Tattered Lace Double Delights die to cut two of the shapes out of gold cardstock and attached them to the back of the frame which I had already embossed using Sue Wilson's lattice e/f.  This was then popped up over the sentiment (which I curved on my block to match the space in between the two die cuts).  I added a ribbon and some Liquid Pearls to finish.

Thanks for dropping by.

Happy crafting.

I've finished!!!

Hi Everyone

Just a quick post today.  Thought I'd share the last 3 Christmas cards I've made.  Hopefully that's all the cards done and everything posted that needs to be...........until you get one from someone you've forgotten!!! lol

Come and see what I did

On these three cards I've used Heartfelt Creations Christmas Poinsettia stamps and the matching die (which also matches Sunkissed Fleur).  The sentiment is from their Sweet Memories set and the trees come from Anna Marie's Christmas Tree set.

I've stamped the Poinsettias onto patterned vellum and gold embossed them.   I've used an 8x8 Embossalicious e/f and Spellbinders circle and scalloped circle nesties.  The Stampin Up bow die came into play and bling is from my stash.

I have used Poppystamps Grand Gothic Iron Work and Grand Gothic Window for the centre card with a wintery scene behind the window.  I used Taylored Expressions Basic Bow die.  The sentiment is Stampin Up Greetings of the Season cut out using SU bauble punch.  Corners are Cheery Lyn Lace Corner Deco die.

Right better get off - just getting my things gathered for our Santa's Grotto in the village hall tomorrow.

Have a great weekend.

Let's Get Inky -Stamp A Happy Christmas!

Hi Everyone

Well, we've battened down the hatches and are waiting for this huge storm to come in at about midnight tonight...........fingers crossed it will miss us but it doesn't look like it!

My friend and fellow DT member Nonni at Kortikarku is organising two Christmas card challenges and the first one is being sponsored by STAMPlorations Stamps and they are giving away a free stamp set.  Here are the rules:

Let's Get Inky -Stamp A Happy Christmas!
Let's create Christmas cards with stamping playing the main role! You could use fun techniques like masking and combine background stamps with smaller stamps... Or how about using non-Christmas stamps for Christmas and playing with some embossing powders? Or stamping with watercolors? Or tone on tone stamping maybe? The possibilities are endless... Let's get inky and creative! You can choose any style from CAS to vintage, what ever you like the best... You can use embellishments too -just don't cover up your fabulous stamping completely!

Thought I'd join in this challenge and here is my card:

I've started with an 8" Anna-Marie Designs pearl card and matted on some of her lovely gingham cardstock.  I cut a circle and sponged around the edges with Crushed Olive DI.  I've used Anna-Marie's Christmas Tree stamp set and stamped in both Crushed Olive and Forest Moss DI's.  I matted onto a Tonic Holly Wreath die and then onto a Spellbinders Grand Decorative Circles.  The little cross stitching on the gingham card is a stamp in the same set.  I've added ribbon, flowers and pins from my stash.  Not sure it shows but I've used Wink of Stella Clear on the trees and then added some very small diamante gems onto the dark tree.  Final touch was putting pearls in the corners.

Hope you're having a great Sunday whatever you're up to.  Thanks for stopping by.

Addicted to CAS - Challenge # 22

Hi Everyone

Welcome to the latest challenge at Addicted to CAS.  Your hostess for this challenge is the very talented Sandie of London Days.  She has chosen the following code word for you to play with:

Our Sponsor for this challenge is:
paper nest dolls blog
They are very generously offering a Prize of a $25 gift voucher!

For my card I've gone with Clearly Besotted stamp and die sets.

I've used a 5" base card and cut some card slightly smaller than the front.  I used my Stampin Up scoreboard to score two lines about a quarter the way up from the bottom so I could "ground" my elements.  I stamped the sofa twice using Stampin Up Not Quite Navy and die cut them both.  I then cut one of the sofa's so I had the separate seat cushions, shaped them and popped them up on the other sofa using Pinflair Glue Gel.  The base of the standard lamp was inked using SU Close to Cocoa and clear embossed.  I stamped two lampshades using Not Quite Navy and die cut them both.  The bottom one was laid over the base of the lamp and the other was shaped and popped up using Pinflair again.  The two sentiments were inked with Close to Cocoa - I shaped the longer sentiment on my acrylic block to give it more interest.

Thanks for popping by.  I love reading all your comments and can't wait to see what you come up with for this challenge.  Don't forget to go over to Addicted to CAS to see the great cards the Design Team have come up with.

Have a great weekend.  Happy crafting.

Recipe:  Clearly Besotted "Time to Relax" and "Shine Bright" stamp and die sets, Anna-Marie double sided pearl cardstock, Stampin Up inks and Scoreboard, PinFlair Glue Gel

Edited to add:  Just a quickie for those of you trying to comment on my blog post yesterday and found you couldn't!!!  I had enabled Google+ comments not realising it stopped anyone else commenting!!!  So, be warned and don't check the box to allow G+ commenting.  I've now unchecked the box and everything looks okay.  Thanks to all my blogging buddies out there who sent me an email letting me know.

House-Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge 141 - EASTER

I often look at the challenges over at House-Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge and decided this was one I just had to enter.  I am always in awe of my blogger buddy Kate's creations and this week is no exception.  This is what they had to say:

*NEW CHALLENGE *
Our super talented Teamie Lori Barnett, is hosting this new Challenge and chose...

*** E a s t e r ***

Include something that relates to Easter somewhere on your project. ie., Bunny, Chick, Egg, Jelly Beans, Cross, Easter paper, Easter colors, a sentiment....Anything that relates to Easter as long as you use a House-Mouse, Gruffies and, or, Happy Hoppers image.

Hurry and Play along for your great chance to win some fabulous prizes!

For my card I've used a HM image which I think is called I'll get it - so cute with the tiddler running on behind waiting to catch the egg.  I decided to decoupage the image to give it dimension and added  Crystal Lacquer on the eggs and their eyes, noses etc.  I die cut the image using my Spellbinders Marvellous Squares and mounted it on an Eyelet Square die cut which I had threaded ribbon through.  This in turn was laid on a square of card which had been embossed with the SU honeycomb e/f.  I added some lace around this last layer.  The base card is 8x8 and I've added a layer of Anna-Marie's gingham paper.  The fancy elements are from the Venetian Accents set and I've then added flowers and gems from my stash.  The sentiment is a very old one which doesn't have a makers name on it.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hope you all have a wonderful Easter break and don't eat too many eggs!!!  lol

ADDICTED TO CAS - FIRST EVER CHALLENGE!!!

Hi Folks - we're all so excited today as it's the very first challenge over at our new blog Addicted to CAS.  And what is our first challenge????????  Here we go:

Please remember that this challenge is CLEAN AND SIMPLE. We all know the rules? Minimal embellishments, clean lines and lots of white space.  With the codes words, they are really open to interpretation. You need to decide what that code word means to you personally.   To some it will definitely mean Christmas. To others it may mean a trip to the snow fields (like in Australia), snow fights, snowman or snowflakes. Could it inspire you to think of snow cones (ice drinks) which we have here right now because it's hot? What about Snow White? What about skiing? The possibilities are endless, let your imagination go WILD!!!!!

We are delighted that Joanna Munster from Inspired by Stamping is sponsoring this first challenge and has offered a $20 voucher to her store Please hop over to her blog at http://www.inspiredbystampin.com/inspired-by-stampin/ and start dreaming what goodies you can buy!!!  lol

My card is very simple.  At the moment I just love white on white and for this card I have embossed a piece of white card with my Crafts Too "Dotty Frame", I've then die cut another piece of card using my Poppy Stamps Pine Tree Border, popped it up on d/s foam across the centre of the embossed frame.  The sentiment is from a new Anna-Marie Designs stamp set "Reindeer".  The only other addition has been four pearls.

We're really looking forward to seeing all your fantastic cards.  Please pop on over to the A2CAS blog and have a look at the amazing DT cards.
