Addicted to CAS Challenge #66 SPLASH

I've got another card for you today.  This time it's for the challenge over at Addicted to CAS #66 where the code word is:

I was scratching my head a bit over this one as I didn't have any stamps that would fit the bill so I trawled through my digi images and found this cute image of a little girl with her oversized umbrella.  I'm afraid I don't have a clue where she's from.

I printed the image four times so I could decoupage various elements.  I used my Die-namics pierced ovals to cut the image and mat.  The sentiment is computer generated.  The d/p is from a Stampin Up set and I used my Lawn Fawn Stitched Hills dies to cut the wavy edge on the d/p.

Final step was Diamond Glaze on the puddle and her umbrella - not sure it shows up very much on the photo.

Thanks for coming by and visiting.

Happy crafting.

Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge June and Just Us Girls #297 Trend Week

Happy Friday everyone.

In between trying to do jobs in the garden I managed to make this card which fits in with the Happy Little Stampers CAS Challenge for June which is Sprays/Mists and also Just Us Girls #297 Trend Week Stacked Die Cuts.

I was playing with my new Ken Oliver Colour Bursts and it's quite amazing how much colour (as you will see from my card!!!) comes out in a puff of air..........!  I put my Memory Box stencil Texture Honey Comb on some watercolour card and sprayed water over before lifting it off.  I then "puffed" some colour over the w/c card and set it aside to dry.  I then die cut Memory Box Honey Blossom Spray from the coloured  w/c card and another four from white cardstock.  I glued all the die cuts together with the coloured one on top and inserted them back into the negative piece.  I then covered the blossom spray with Diamond Glaze.  Mounted onto a top fold card base.  The sentiment is SU Celebrate Today stamp set and punched out with a SU punch.  Not sure whether the light in my room wasn't very good but it looks much more dimensional IRL!!!

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great weekend - the weather looks like it's going to be good.

Happy crafting.

NB  Just been to link up with the Just Us Girls challenge to find the link has been closed - ah well, never mind!

Crafty Cardmakers #141 For a Man or Boy

Well, wouldn't you know........nothing for ages and then, just like buses, a few arrive within a short time!!! lol

Ages ago I bought a decoupage sheet from The House of Zandra (I do love their quirky designs) and after it was sitting on my desk for ages I made it up and there it still sat.  Anyhow I saw the Crafty Cardmakers new challenge #141 For a Man or Boy and thought this character would fit the bill perfectly.

I placed the White Rabbit onto two mats die cut using GoKreate XXL Frilly Labels from papers that are in Dovecraft Curiosity Corner pack.  The top layer was embossed using Couture Creations Work Shop e/f.  The backing papers are from the same paper pack and the border with the watch was cut from another piece of the paper.  The sentiment is computer generated and punched using a SU labels punch.  I've added Diamond Glaze to various parts of the decoupage, especially the clocks.

Thanks for dropping by.

Happy crafting.

Christmas Card Club #7 Cute Christmas

It's time for another challenge at our Christmas Card Club and the theme for today is Cute Christmas.

For my card I decided to use my Hobby Arts "Small Parts" stamp - I think it's so cute with the polar bears and penguins.  I stamped it onto white card and then paper pieced the letters which had Diamond Glaze on them after I'd attached them to the main image.  The little colouring was done with Flexmarkers.....really just a touch of a blue grey and some yellow for feet and beaks.

I made a stepper card for a change.  Now I know these are easy to make but how often have you done one and been a fraction off with your measuring or cutting and ruined the whole thing???  So when I saw that Cheery Lyn had actually released a die that cut not only the main card but also all the panels I did a little happy dance!  I've not seen it over here and actually bought it from the States - which was probably no more expensive than if I'd bought it here.  It always amazes me that the US$ price actually turns into the same thing in £'s................hmm like over twice as expensive right?

Anyway, the main card is a red base with the panels cut from papers in my stash.  For the centre piece I embossed a piece of white card with a Cuttlebug icicle e/f and added a ribbon before adhering the main panel. The bottom has been shaped with a Fiskars border punch, as has the paper panel.

As this card also fits the Completely Christmas  Challenge #5 Anything Goes I will be entering my card there.

Thanks for dropping by - hope you're having a great weekend.

New Home, Peppa Pig and Deer.............

Hello everyone - thought I'd pop by to share some cards I've recently finished.  The first one is for good friends of ours who are moving to West Sussex next week - we have been friends and neighbours for 17 years and we will be really sorry to see them go.

I used Britannia Dies Lattice Edge and Open Window for the front of the card.  I cut the Open Window twice so I could sandwich acetate inbetween to act as the "glass".  I stamped the house which is from Chocolate Baroque on the base card and coloured with Flexmarkers.  I then shaped the front to give the appearance of a bow-fronted window.  The sentiment is computer generated and printed on my laser printer, then foiled and die cut with a Spellbinders Labels die.  Flowers and butterflies from my stash.

The next two cards are commissions from a friend.  The first is for her granddaughter who will be three and loves Peppa Pig and the second is for Darren who has started running his own deer herd.  Maria had seen a card I'd made earlier using my Taylored Expressions Birch Tree and accessory dies and thought it would be perfect for him.

So the first one is Peppa Pig - not something I had in my stash so had to go hunting to find some colouring pages etc.  Luckily I found a few so took them into CraftArtist and used them along with a digikit which had zoo animals in it. I decoupaged up the bunting and the characters to give a bit of dimension, added Diamond Glaze to the "sausage shaped" balloon and then made up a circle sentiment which was die cut with circle nesties and popped up on a scalloped circle.

The last card is the deer card.  I started off layering up the trees - there are actually about four layers starting with light trees and coming to the fore with darker ones sponged with DI's.  The deer are a combination of the Taylored Expressions deer and my Memory Box deer trio die.  They have been weaved in and out of the trees, again with some in the background.  They were all diecut from kraft cardstock and sponged with DI's. The signpost is part of the TE accessories set, as is the birdhouse, owl and bird.  I diecut Darren's name using Die-Versions Editor in Chief font.  I finished off using Clearly Besotted's grass die and Poppy Stamps Leafy Tree Border.

Thanks for popping by.  Hope you all have a great weekend.

Happy crafting.

Addicted to CAS - Challenge #32

Hello to everyone on this Saturday morning - can you believe we are halfway through February already? And it's time again for another challenge which, this week, is being hosted by the lovely Deepti.  Here's what she's chosen:

Our Sponsor is:

and we have the lovely Anni joining in as Guest Designer
I ummed and ahhed about this challenge......since I didn't have any stamps that would fit the challenge should I go for coffee tones/colours?????

Anyway I went and had a look through my digi folders to see if I had anything that would be suitable and came across this fab little image from Deary Dolls.  It was already coloured so printed it out twice so I could decoupage up some elements.  I then die cut it with a Spellbinders die and matted onto a pink bazzill cardstock and added some Diamond Glaze.  The sentiment was also a free digi but I don't know where from - just loved the wording as it went so well with the image.

Hope you haven't been too affected by this awful weather. Don't forget to hop over to the ATCAS blog to see the fab cards made by the rest of the DT. We're looking forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge.

Thanks for popping in.

Happy crafting.

Addicted to CAS - Challenge #26 and Anniversary Celebrations!

Happy Saturday everyone - we're back round to a new challenge at Addicted to CAS and I can hardly believe it but this challenge marks our 1st Anniversary!  So we are celebrating in a big way!!!  It's been such fun being on the DT over the year and we've had some amazing entries for our challenges, so hope you've had fun as well.  Thanks must go to our esteemed leader Kylie for all her hard work.

Today's challenge is being hosted by the inimitable and hugely talented Marie.  Here is what she's chosen for you:

Our Sponsor is:

Deedee will offer 3 digi sets for our winners.

We have added a Guest Designer Feature for ATCAS!  We are so excited to announce that Bonnie Klass (Stamping with Klass) will be our first Guest Designer for the month of November.  Welcome Bonnie!!

Bonnie is an amazing card artist and we know you will enjoy her lovely creations as much as we do.  Here's a little about Bonnie:

"Wow, I’m so excited to be a Guest Designer at Addicted to CAS.  CAS is my favorite style of cards to make and I’m happiest and sanest when I’m making cards!
My husband and I have been married over 40 years and we have 3 beautiful grown daughters who have brought 3 special sons-in-law and 5 grandchildren into our lives.  We take care of 2 of our grandsons during the week.  They keep us hopping!   I snatch any free moments I can to get inky!
I discovered card making about 6 years ago and that has become my passion. (Some would say obsession.)  I started blogging about 4 years ago and I have learned so much and made many wonderful friends through the blogging community.  There’s so much inspiration and camaraderie on these creative blogs.  Stampers are the best people!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
For this challenge we are giving away a bumper prize pack to our CAS Perfectionist!!
Marie, Loll, Kylie and myself have offered prizes on top of our sponsor's prize.
Here are the prizes -
Marie's prize is:
Siligum silicone modeling paste which is a really easy and fun way to make your own moulds which can be used to make embellishments from clay or UTEE etc.
Loll's prizes are:
two packs of Loll's card candy!!!
and
$20 voucher at Nicecrane Designs
Kylie's prize is:
$10 gift voucher to Inspired by Stamping
Karen's prizes are:
A sheet of Joanna Sheen's stamps "Rudolph & Santa Christmas Collection" and
a Stampendous cling stamp "Birdie Kiddo"
So, after all that excitement it's onto my card.  I've actually used a digi stamp set from Deedee's Digis called Now and Forever and I've played with three elements and a sentiment using my CraftArtist programme.  As soon as I saw the entwined wedding rings it reminded me of when people used to pull hand knitted baby shawl's through a wedding ring to determine how fine it was..............do you remember that?  Anyway that's what gave me the idea of the rings being the main focal point and that you can see behind the wedding cake and church.
I die cut a square piece of card using my Tonic Ribbon Wreath die set so I had an aperture to view the image through.  I added Diamond Glaze to the rings and the smaller die cut from the same Tonic set.
Please pop over to Addicted to CAS to see the fabulous cards the DT have made to inspire you.
Whatever you're doing have a great weekend and looking forward to seeing your great creations and we can't wait to give away all these amazing prizes to our CAS Perfectionist.  Good luck everyone.
Less is More Weeks 99-100 - Recipe
Hello everyone - hope you all had an amazing Christmas and received lots of crafting goodies.  Sorry I've been missing for these last couple of weeks but still in the process of moving to my new craft room.  It's nearly finished but I've got stuff in both rooms now which makes life a bit difficult.  We also have half of Tony's garage (tools) as he was getting fed up going up and down the stairs all the time.  So, as soon as he's moved out, I can actually get organising - can't wait and will post some photos.
I'm so glad that the challenge over at Less is More lasts for two weeks otherwise I would have missed it again!  This challenge is:
This challenge will last for two weeks over the festivities and we have decided to start our Christmas celebrations with a whizz and have chosen
DRINKS
as our recipe.
You can choose tea, coffee, water, sodas, alcohol of course if you wish, in fact any drink at all... but all of us...Chrissie, Mandi and Jen would like to wish all of you a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous and healthy New Year.
Cheers!
As soon as I saw it I remembered I had seen a stamp buried under other "stuff" recently and thought it would do.  It's called "Party Girl" by Strawberry Kisses.  I stamped the image twice with black Memento ink and coloured the first one with Flexmarkers.  I then cut out the umbrella and the two cherries and lemon slice.  These were also coloured with Flexmarkers.  I then used Diamond Glaze on the cherries and the bowl of the glass and popped the cherries and umbrella up on pop dots to give dimension.
I used nesties to cut the image and the mat and used a circle punch for each end of the sentiment.  I've added two pieces of lace joined in the middle as an embellishment.
I'd like to wish everyone a healthy and happy New Year - see you on the other side!
Addicted to Stamps & More! Make your mark #4
Hi Gang - welcome to Wednesday and another challenge over at Addicted to Stamps & More!  This week the challenge is Make your Mark - so anything goes as long as you colour using your markers.
Here's my DT sample and I've used a gorgeous image called "Beneath the Waves" by Sureya at Deviantart.  Please take a minute to pop on over and see the wonderful images both line art and coloured that are offered free - you have to become a member but it doesn't cost you anything and there's some amazing inspiration over there.
I've coloured her using Flexmarkers and then added Diamond Glaze to her hair so it looks wet and glitter to her fish tail and wings.  I've die cut the image using Docrafts Xcut Nesting Dies Leaves 2 and mounted onto card from my stash.  The first mat has been put through my Joy in a Sizzix e/f as I thought it looked a bit like waves.  The backing paper was a digi freebie.  I've added a border across the card and then die cut a piece of glitter paper using my Memory Box Riviera Corner.  I've sponged around the edges with Peacock Feathers DI and used a flourish stamp around the edges using Versamark Dazzle Frost inkpad.  The sentiment is computer generated and punched out with SU punches.  As a finishing touch I've added pearls in various colours and a bit of waste from the corner die cut.
Thanks for dropping by - please go and have a look at the wonderful DT cards over at ATS&M!  We're looking forward to seeing all your wonderful entries.
Fab news from Opal Manor!
Happy Friday afternoon folks.  A couple of days ago I had some lovely news in that I had won the Halloween challenge over at Opal Manor - could have knocked me down with a feather (well, I reckon it might just take more than that.......lol).  Anyway my prize was my own unique digistamp created by the very talented Annie.  Wanna see what I did with it????  Oh, go on then........Aaaargggghhhhhhh -
SORRY, did I frighten you???  Isn't he a scary little critter?  Just have to love him though.  As soon as I saw him I knew what I wanted to do with him - this time again thanks to a very talented lady Jak Heath who gave us all the "Time to Face your Fears" digi background.  I didn't have to do much to Jak's background except add some drips of red Flexmarker and I've highlighted some details with the gold atYou Spica pens.  I resized my little critter in Word and printed off two copies.  The bottom copy has been glued to the background and coloured with Flexmarkers and I then just cut out my critter, coloured him and decoupaged him on top of the original one to make it look like he was really coming at you.  I've then added Diamond Glaze to the eyes, tail, horns and his "Mohican".  I've added a little glitter to his lovely red nails!  So a huge thanks to Annie of Opal Manor for creating this little chap for me - I've really enjoyed playing with him.  Please do pop over and have a look at all her creations - they are all free for you to use and there are also some coloured digis for your delectation as well.
Thanks for dropping by..........don't have nightmares tonight will you - hoooooooooohooooo!
Close up of Faye's wings
This lovely little girl is Faye with Flower from Wild Rose Studio and she's been coloured using Letraset Flexmarkers and die cut with nesties.  Her wings were covered with Diamond Glaze and then had Glamour Dust sprinkled over.  The sentiment is from my Stampin Up Whimsical Words set.  The flower, leaf and border dies are all Memory Box.  Paper is from my stash. as was the ribbon and pearls.  A touch of Stickles was added to her dress and the flowers on the border.
Anniversary card
Just a quick post today.  It's our wedding anniversary on Thursday - married for 21 years........ perhaps he'll give me the key to the door!!!  lol  Had a hard time deciding what type of card to make Tony but he normally appreciates anything I do which is great.  Unfortunately he's had a bad back for a while so I just couldn't resist this image and especially the sentiment!  They are both from a set called The Wrinklies from Dimension Fourth.  The image has been stamped onto cream card with Memento ink and coloured with Letraset Flexmarkers and Promarkers, cut out using Nesties and Diamond Glaze added to his glasses and pipe.  I've used Stampin Up backing card and a Martha Steward large edger punch.  I added a piece of gingham ribbon and some gems.  The sentiment was stamped and clear embossed and cut out using the same Nesties.  After I had made the card I realised it didn't mention anything about our anniversary - doh!!!!  So I created that on the computer using Kon Tiki Enchanted font and used a Stampin Up punch to cut it out.
Thanks for looking.
Bah Humbug - Challenge 42 - With men in mind
This week's challenge over at Humbug Hall is With Men in Mind - well, I ask you, when aren't they!!!  lol
I've used Mistletoe Gilly from Prairie Fairy which is a digi stamp.  She's been coloured with Letraset Flexmarkers, die cut using nesties and mounted on a larger nestie.  Backing paper is from my stash.  I have added some lace.  The sentiment is computer generated and I've added some flowers and gems.  I've also used Diamond Glaze on Gilly's glasses which gives a good effect.  Hopefully whoever received this card will pucker up..............
LIM Week 31 - Colour - Metallics
This week the Divas over at Less is More have asked us to create a CAS card using a colour theme which, this week, is:
METALLIC
I've been dying to use my new Marianne's Christmas Ornament dies and this was the perfect challenge for them.  I took some Art Emboss medium weight Pewter which I normally use in my free machine embroidery and die cut three shapes; two of the more open designs and one of the slightly more solid design.  They cut beautifully and, because the pewter is quite flexible, came out of the die easily.  I attached some metallic black and silver cord to the top of each ornament and then mounted onto a piece of black card to which I had put a strip of red liner tape around the outside edges and added metallic flakes to.  I then used Diamond Glaze on the inside of each of the ornaments to give a nice shiny finish and mounted this onto an A5 ribbed black card base.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up Contempo Christmas and embossed in detail silver e/p.  To finish I've gone round all the edges with a silver pen.
Thanks for leaving your comments - they are very much appreciated.
Less is More - Week 26 Lucky Dip - Fruit
This week's challenge over at Less is More is FRUIT.  The only stamp I have with fruit on is a Stampin Up one which has already been used by Chrissie so I turned to CraftArtist and imported a photo of a lovely apple, had a play with the layout and made up the sentiment.  Very simple and I think it confirms to the CAS design theme.  I added Diamond Glaze to the apple to make it nice and shiny although I'm not sure if the photo shows it up to its best as I had to turn it sideways for it to show up at all.............. think I need to go on a photography course!!!  lol
Thanks for stopping by.
