The Pony CASE-Press

Happy Saturday everyone.  Well I've been waiting to show you this card but had to be patient as it was sent to Mynn over in Canada and I didn't want to spoil her surprise.......unfortunately a lot of mail got caught up in the bad weather in the US so it took an extra loooooong time!

I'm not sure you remember what the Pony CASE-Press is all about but here's a summary:

Here's how this works:
  1. The person wishing to participate will contact me, Mynn, at onastampageATyahooDOTcom with their mailing address and be placed in the queue line and will be emailed a personalized watermark to use on the photo of the card they create for this challenge.
  2. Mynn will email the participant when it is his/her time to craft and send out a picture of the card they will CASE with the recipient's mailing address.
  3. The participant will look at the card that the participant before them created, CASE it, and then send it to the person who inspired them. The participant will also send Mynn a photo of their creation to be put on the queue as soon as the recipient receives it.
There are a few rules:
  1. Only sign up if you are willing to ship a card internationally.  This concept will be open world wide as another way to build a fun and friendly online community for crafters.
  2. Please be timely in making and sending your creation.  Because this is an international chain, cards need to be made and sent within a week of receiving the email from Mynn so that we can keep things moving along.
  3. Please make sure to use the Pony CASE-Press watermark on the photo of your card.  If you need help with this, email Mynn and she will do it for you! :)
  4. After you sign up to participate, please add our badge to your sidebar so that others can find us!
  5. You will need to make sure NOT to blog your card until the recipient receives it.
  6. HAVE FUN!
And now onto my creation.  I was tasked with CASEing Mynn's card which, in turn, CASEd Petra's original card:

             Petra's card                                                                                  Mynn's card

and now for my card:

For the various elements of backing paper I used docrafts Papermania Madame Payraud's paper pack which has a lovely range of eclectic papers.  These were cut and layered onto plain card and I used my sewing machine with a variety of straight and zigzag stitching to attach the panels.  I used some lace and flowers from my stash.  The banner is Die-namics Fishtail Flags.

On the main panel I die cut some copper sheet using Tattered Lace Doves & Branches and then heated the copper to change the colour.  The die cut leaves I found in my bits box and asdded some WOW Metallic Copper Ultra High embossing powder.  Added a bow, the little birds are from Impression Obsession Die 154-A and the final touch was some Liquid Pearls.

The next card will be a CASE of my card to Mynn and so it goes on - it's great fun so why don't you pop on over to Mynn's blog and join in.

Happy crafting.

Goodies galore!!!!!

A couple of weeks ago I got an email from Docrafts saying I had won a prize in their June draw which could take up to 6 weeks to arrive.  Couldn't for the life of me remember what the prize had been but was quite excited as I rarely win anything (unlike some people I know.........Jill?.....  Heather????? hehe).

This morning there was a knock on the door and a huge parcel appeared.  This is what was in it:

Wowza - I think there's about £70 worth of Tilly Daydream goodies in that lot.  There are fat quarters (brilliant), ribbon, lace doilies, ric rac, the long rolls are adhesive backed fabric, set of hexagon nesting dies, stamps, decoupage, paper packs, die-cut sentiments, fabric buttons, notelets, "handmade with love" fabric labels etc etc etc!!!  I just couldn't believe it.

Off to play! lol

Addicted to Stamps & More! Make your mark #4

Hi Gang - welcome to Wednesday and another challenge over at Addicted to Stamps & More!  This week the challenge is Make your Mark - so anything goes as long as you colour using your markers.

Here's my DT sample and I've used a gorgeous image called "Beneath the Waves" by Sureya at Deviantart.  Please take a minute to pop on over and see the wonderful images both line art and coloured that are offered free - you have to become a member but it doesn't cost you anything and there's some amazing inspiration over there.

I've coloured her using Flexmarkers and then added Diamond Glaze to her hair so it looks wet and glitter to her fish tail and wings.  I've die cut the image using Docrafts Xcut Nesting Dies Leaves 2 and mounted onto card from my stash.  The first mat has been put through my Joy in a Sizzix e/f as I thought it looked a bit like waves.  The backing paper was a digi freebie.  I've added a border across the card and then die cut a piece of glitter paper using my Memory Box Riviera Corner.  I've sponged around the edges with Peacock Feathers DI and used a flourish stamp around the edges using Versamark Dazzle Frost inkpad.  The sentiment is computer generated and punched out with SU punches.  As a finishing touch I've added pearls in various colours and a bit of waste from the corner die cut.

Thanks for dropping by - please go and have a look at the wonderful DT cards over at ATS&M!  We're looking forward to seeing all your wonderful entries.

Addicted to Stamps - Theme Challenge #2 - Cards for boys

Hi again everyone.  It's that time of week again for a brand new challenge at Addicted to Stamps.  The theme this week is Cards for Boys...........yep those tricky critters!!!!  lol

For my card I have chosen to use stamps from the docrafts Wellington 8"x8" set.  He's such a gorgeous creature and I think much more male oriented than a "cute" teddy you might use for a card for a female.  I've taken a blank 8" square card and have used a variety of Coredinations card stock added mats and layers which have been embossed with my Cuttlebug Wicker Weave embossing folders and then sanded back.  A couple of pieces I've just sanded.  The main image has been stamped onto watercolour paper and coloured using Aquamarkers with an added touch of atyou Spica glitters.  I then die cut the image with nesties and then added a layer of acetate over the top.  Holes punched and brown gingham ribbon added.  The sentiment No 1 Nephew is matted onto a Spellbinders Fancy Labels die cut and the other (which I think is so true) has just been layered onto matching Coredinations.  I had a bit of ribbon left so added it to the top left with a brad.  It's my eldest nephew (hence the No 1 - my other, younger, nephew is No 2!!!) Dominic's birthday in a few days time and I thought this would be good for him (although he's all grown up......) as Wellington is sitting on a very adult leather armchair in possibly a library - and as he's an author what better?  lol

Please pop over to Addicted to Stamps and look at the amazing inspirational pieces the DT have made for your delectation this week.  We look forward to your entries and popping over to your blogs.

Happy crafting.

Teddy Bear for a 2 year old

Hello everyone - I was asked to make a birthday card for a 2 year old little boy who loves teddy bears so where better to turn than to Tatty Teddy on the Me to You CD.  I used this in conjunction with the Docrafts Digital Designer programme.  The base card is an 8" square scalloped blank.  The decoupaged image is mounted onto nestie shapes.  The backing paper was from the same CD.  I punched a small envelope out of pale blue vellum (for some reason it looks really dark in the photo but it's a pale colour) and made a miniature card saying Happy Birthday Kian.  The circle sentiment was produced in CraftArtist and punched using Stampin Up circle and scalloped circle.  The name was computer generated and I used the pennant punch from Stampin Up and threaded through some blue rickrack ribbon.  The final touch was a pretty organza ribbon and bow.

I have put the Linky Followers on the side bar just in case we lose our Google Friends Followers at the end of this month as I would hate to loose all my lovely followers so if you want to continue following me please pop your names on the Linky Followers; its free to join......  Lot of bloggers have done the same thing just to be on the safe side...

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great weekend.

Do it with Digi's - It's all about the boys..................

The current challenge over at DIWD's is It's all about the boys.  I have used a John Byers Nostalgia digistamp which was a free download from DoCrafts.  I have made a centre stepper card and hunted around the internet to find a free image of a football ground.  I then printed this out to the same size as the centre stepper card and cut it into three - the centre panel and two outers.  The two friends have been coloured with Promarkers and cut out and stuck to the centre panel with silicone glue.  The grass was achieved by using one of my quilling dies to add a fringe to the green textured paper.  The rosette has been die cut using my Tim Holtz paper rosettes die.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the sunshine!!

Bah Humbug Challenge 21 - Bells

This is my last week as Guest Designer over at Humbug Hall and so I decided to make two cards for the challenge.

The first one uses a digistamp, which was a free download from DoCrafts, and all I've done to it was added "snow" to the trees, roofs and ground as I wanted a monochrome card just using white, red and black.  I have cut the layers, and also the base 8x8" card, using my large nestabilities Labels 1 set.  The sentiment was computer generated using text boxes in Windows and I've finished off the card with a red ribbon bow and gems.

The second card came about whilst I was playing with CraftArtist and was totally generated within that programme.  After I'd printed out the front page of the card I used my circle and scalloped circle nesties to cut out the sentiment and central bells so I could decoupage them using silicone glue.  The only things I have added was some rikrak ribbon, gems and two red bells that my friend Jan gave me last year.  I must say CraftArtist is a brilliant piece of software which allows you to do all kinds of things and I'm especially pleased that I can now make up my own circle sentiments rather than buying them on the internet.

I'd like to say a huge thank you to Ann and Max at Humbug Hall for asking me to be guest designer for the month of May.  I've really enjoyed it and look forward to continuing meeting their challenges for the rest of the year.

Thanks for stopping by.  Happy crafting.

Bah! Humbug! Metallics

The challenge over at Bah! Humbug! this week is metallics.

Whilst I was racking my brain trying to think what to do I came across a sheet of Ten Second Studio black metal so thought I would use it.  I cut the sheet to size so I could use a DoCrafts embossing folder with baubles on it.  I ran it through my  JT machine and then sanded over the raised parts which took off the black and revealed the silver underneath.  It's then been mounted onto some white glitter card and black mirri and I punched the corners with an Xcut silhouette corner punch which allowed me to slide the top two layers under the punched area.  This was then mounted onto a 5"x7" card covered with hand made white paper with silver flakes (although I don't think you will see this from the photograph).  I added some clear gems and a small greeting peel-off.

Thanks for dropping by.
