Addicted to CAS - Challenge # 46

Hello everyone - well I'm back in the saddle after having a short holiday to Derbyshire and the North Yorkshire Moors.............and boy was it COLD!!!  Had to make a quick stop halfway to stock up on some warmer clothing!

Seems like ages since I've crafted and I must admit to bringing some goodies back with me as we made a detour to Grimsby to visit The Hobby Horse - a bit out of our way but after Tony got all his wishes with the steam holiday I thought that I should fulfill mine which also included having afternoon tea in Betty's (yummy is the only word to describe that!).

So a new challenge is on the cards at Addicted to CAS but this one only lasts for ONE WEEK due to schedule hiccups.  Anyway I'm sure you'll all make that one week count.  Your hostess for this challenge is the wonderfully talented Sandie of London Days.  Here is her code word:

Our Sponsor for this challenge is:
Inspired by Stamping

$15 GIFT VOUCHER

Inspired by Stamping is a boutique online craft store based in Australia and was founded by Joanna Munster in July 2011. Our commitment is to bring you the highest quality in paper crafting supplies.
We design & manufacture the highest quality of photopolymer stamps that bring superior stamping to all crafters. Whether you're just starting out in card making or a "seasoned scrapper", you'll find that our stamps and products are a great addition to your collection.

Here is what I came up with:

I stamped my image (Martini Girl by Sassy Studio Designs) and coloured her using my Flexmarkers.  I used my Lil'Inker Pierced Squares dies for the image and the purple mat.  The sentiment is from Not Bossy by Acid Drops & Whatnots and the bow is Sue Wilson's Filigree 3D Itty Bitty Bows.  I added Crystal Lacquer to the martini glasses although I'm not sure you can see that too well.

So now, what does luxury mean to you?  For me it was a no brainer..........what could be better that sipping a martini whilst sitting in a giant martini glass (presumably I've already drunk the contents of that!!! lol).

Can't wait to see what you come up with.  Don't forget to pop on over to the Addicted to CAS blog to see what the other girls in the DT  have come up with for your delectation.

Happy crafting.

Christmas Card Club #7 Cute Christmas

It's time for another challenge at our Christmas Card Club and the theme for today is Cute Christmas.

For my card I decided to use my Hobby Arts "Small Parts" stamp - I think it's so cute with the polar bears and penguins.  I stamped it onto white card and then paper pieced the letters which had Diamond Glaze on them after I'd attached them to the main image.  The little colouring was done with Flexmarkers.....really just a touch of a blue grey and some yellow for feet and beaks.

I made a stepper card for a change.  Now I know these are easy to make but how often have you done one and been a fraction off with your measuring or cutting and ruined the whole thing???  So when I saw that Cheery Lyn had actually released a die that cut not only the main card but also all the panels I did a little happy dance!  I've not seen it over here and actually bought it from the States - which was probably no more expensive than if I'd bought it here.  It always amazes me that the US$ price actually turns into the same thing in £'s................hmm like over twice as expensive right?

Anyway, the main card is a red base with the panels cut from papers in my stash.  For the centre piece I embossed a piece of white card with a Cuttlebug icicle e/f and added a ribbon before adhering the main panel. The bottom has been shaped with a Fiskars border punch, as has the paper panel.

As this card also fits the Completely Christmas  Challenge #5 Anything Goes I will be entering my card there.

Thanks for dropping by - hope you're having a great weekend.

Christmas Card Club - Challenge # 6, Completely Christmas #3 and Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge March Extra

Hello everyone.  It's a brand new challenge over at the Christmas Card Club and this time it's Christine who has chosen the theme which is:

Let's see some wings (angels, fairies, birds)

Soooo, probably like some of you I have some NBUS (never before used schtuff!!!) in the Christmas department and thought I needed to use this cute stamp which is Woodware Clear Magic Christmas Hoot.

I stamped this little fella using black Memento and coloured in Flexmarkers.  He's been cut out using my Lil'Inkers Stitched Square dies.  The b/p was from my stash. I'd been using my Clearly Besotted Make a Wish dies for the card I posted yesterday and had some blanks lying around...........and what do you know - yep, the sentiments that come with this stamp set actually fit on the balloons! Lucky or what??? I added some bakers twine to the balloons and tied them together under the wings and popped them up with d/s foam pads.  The corner dies are Cheery Lyn (the die cut pieces didn't come out fully on the first pass, but thought they looked good with them in so just glued the entire corner piece to the card), the chevrons are Die-namics Chevron Stripes and the flowers are Heartfelt Creations stamps and die, gold embossed onto red vellum.  Final touches were some fluffy stuff for hat and boots and Glossy Accents for his eyes.

I'm also entering this card into the following two challenges:

Completely Christmas #3 Anything Goes and Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra.

Hope you're having a good weekend.

Happy crafting.

New Home, Peppa Pig and Deer.............

Hello everyone - thought I'd pop by to share some cards I've recently finished.  The first one is for good friends of ours who are moving to West Sussex next week - we have been friends and neighbours for 17 years and we will be really sorry to see them go.

I used Britannia Dies Lattice Edge and Open Window for the front of the card.  I cut the Open Window twice so I could sandwich acetate inbetween to act as the "glass".  I stamped the house which is from Chocolate Baroque on the base card and coloured with Flexmarkers.  I then shaped the front to give the appearance of a bow-fronted window.  The sentiment is computer generated and printed on my laser printer, then foiled and die cut with a Spellbinders Labels die.  Flowers and butterflies from my stash.

The next two cards are commissions from a friend.  The first is for her granddaughter who will be three and loves Peppa Pig and the second is for Darren who has started running his own deer herd.  Maria had seen a card I'd made earlier using my Taylored Expressions Birch Tree and accessory dies and thought it would be perfect for him.

So the first one is Peppa Pig - not something I had in my stash so had to go hunting to find some colouring pages etc.  Luckily I found a few so took them into CraftArtist and used them along with a digikit which had zoo animals in it. I decoupaged up the bunting and the characters to give a bit of dimension, added Diamond Glaze to the "sausage shaped" balloon and then made up a circle sentiment which was die cut with circle nesties and popped up on a scalloped circle.

The last card is the deer card.  I started off layering up the trees - there are actually about four layers starting with light trees and coming to the fore with darker ones sponged with DI's.  The deer are a combination of the Taylored Expressions deer and my Memory Box deer trio die.  They have been weaved in and out of the trees, again with some in the background.  They were all diecut from kraft cardstock and sponged with DI's. The signpost is part of the TE accessories set, as is the birdhouse, owl and bird.  I diecut Darren's name using Die-Versions Editor in Chief font.  I finished off using Clearly Besotted's grass die and Poppy Stamps Leafy Tree Border.

Thanks for popping by.  Hope you all have a great weekend.

Happy crafting.
