Christmas Card Club Challenge #3

Hello everyone.  It's time for another challenge over at the Christmas Card Club and today's challenge has been set by the lovely Mary.  She's chosen "feature a heart/the colour red".

Here's my take on the challenge:

I've chosen a digi image from Make it Crafty - I just love this little guy don't you?  He's been printed out and then die cut using Lil'Inkers Stitched Circles dies which I've been hankering after for quite some time now!!! lol  Matted onto a matching red circle.  I then took a 6" square red card and folded back the front to create a "z" card.  I matted some Christmas d/p snippets onto white card stock and the inside panel has been punched using a Martha Stewart punch.

The hearts were diecut using Spellbinders dies and I punched a hole in the largest to add a silver bell mirroring the cute little guy's hat.  The sentiment is from JustRite Merry and Bright stamp set and I used my Stampin Up circle and scalloped circle punches.

Why don't you pop on over to the rest of the girls blogs (see my side bar for their links) to see what they came up with.

Thanks to my friend Kate I am also entering this into the Winter Wonderland challenge which is Digi Days.

Happy crafting.

Anni Lerche will be our Guest Designer for the month of February.

Welcome Anni!!

"Hello, I am Anika (aka Anni or Annikarten) and I’m from Germany. For 15 years now I´ve lived in the beautiful city Berlin and I am married. I work as a math-teacher at a vocational college; to perform handicraft work is a perfect compensation for that.

From the cradle I grew up in a family of creative hobbyists, whereas I always only loved working with paper – I am wasted on needlework.  Into stamping I am since 2008, I love clean and simple cards, and yet eventually my cards often turn out to be somewhat more complex. I love the soothing paper piecing and resist techniques. You can see all my projects at annikarten.blogspot.ca."
Now, onto my DT card for this challenge.  I've used one of Kathryne's lovely images called  Filled with Love.  I've printed the digi out twice; the first time on white printer card and the second on designer paper so I could paper piece her dress and hair bow.  Image coloured with Flexmarkers.  I cut out the heart balloons separately and added some bakers twine which I attached to her hand and then decoupaged her hand (paw?) on top.  The hearts are Spellbinders and she was popped up with Pinflair.  The sentiment is Tim Holtz Stacked Words: Valentines and die cut out of the same d/p.  The heart balloons and the heart on the sentiment had Crystal Lacquer added.  The base card was embossed using a Cuttlebug border e/f.

Now pop on over to Addicted to CAS and have a look at the fabulous DT cards.  Looking forward to visiting your blogs to see your wonderful creations.

Have a great weekend - happy crafting!

Christmas Card Club Challenge #2

Hello everyone.  I've been lucky enough to be invited to join in with the challenges at the Christmas Card Club which is made up of some lovely ladies (see details to the right) who wanted to make Christmas cards throughout the year.  I definitely need an impetus otherwise I end up panicing at the last minute - so here is my card for my first challenge which is "Cooking up a storm - anything to do with food".

I actually don't have much in the way of Christmas food but came across this cute Forever Friends stamp of teddies making the Christmas cake.  I stamped in Memento black ink and coloured with Flexmarkers.  Die cuts are Spellbinders Labels 28 and I've used Papermania b/p from my stash.  The sentiment is computer generated.  The felt holly flowers were a freebie gift in with a recent order from someone in America.  I've added a couple of pompoms to the hats and some Stickles glitter across the fur borders.

Hazel over at Craftyhazelnuts (fabulous name for a blog!!!) also has a Christmas card challenge on which runs for the month of January so I am entering my card into that as well.

Thanks so much for popping by - I really enjoy reading all your comments.

Happy crafting.

Addicted to CAS Challenge #30

Happy Saturday everyone.  Today sees our latest challenge at Addicted to CAS and your hostess is the lovely and very talented Shana.  Here is the code word she's chosen:

and our Sponsor for this challenge is:

Deedee will offer 3 digi sets for our winners.

Now I was pondering on this code word..........was it New Year, turning over a New leaf, New goodies?????  When you start thinking you can use this word with so many combinations.  Anyway I've chosen my theme to be for a New baby and here's my card:

I've used a 6" square card blank and some pink bazzil cardstock.  Using my Spellbinders Labels 27 I cut the aperture in the centre of the bazzil cardstock.  The image is a digistamp from the lovely Paulette at Create with TLC.  I printed the image four times and then added patterned paper (from my stash) across each image using repositionable tape and put it back through the printer.  I left the first layer in black ink and die cut it using the same Spellbinder die.  I then fussy cut out various elements from the different papers and paper pieced on top of the base image.  I then added this back into the negative shape on the piece of bazzil card and attached at the back.  I then popped it up on some d/s foam pads.  I added some dots of glue around the image and added crystal Glamour Dust.

Now I came back to the card after a little while and wondered whether it needed anything else so I just cut out two Simon Says String of Hearts die cuts and placed them at the top of the card.  I'd be really interested to see whether you prefer version one or two.  I still can't decide!!! lol

Don't forget to pop over to Addicted to CAS where the Design Team have some amazing  cards for you.

Co-incidentally the theme over at Less is More this week is New Baby so I am entering this card.

I've finished!!!

Hi Everyone

Just a quick post today.  Thought I'd share the last 3 Christmas cards I've made.  Hopefully that's all the cards done and everything posted that needs to be...........until you get one from someone you've forgotten!!! lol

Come and see what I did

On these three cards I've used Heartfelt Creations Christmas Poinsettia stamps and the matching die (which also matches Sunkissed Fleur).  The sentiment is from their Sweet Memories set and the trees come from Anna Marie's Christmas Tree set.

I've stamped the Poinsettias onto patterned vellum and gold embossed them.   I've used an 8x8 Embossalicious e/f and Spellbinders circle and scalloped circle nesties.  The Stampin Up bow die came into play and bling is from my stash.

I have used Poppystamps Grand Gothic Iron Work and Grand Gothic Window for the centre card with a wintery scene behind the window.  I used Taylored Expressions Basic Bow die.  The sentiment is Stampin Up Greetings of the Season cut out using SU bauble punch.  Corners are Cheery Lyn Lace Corner Deco die.

Right better get off - just getting my things gathered for our Santa's Grotto in the village hall tomorrow.

Have a great weekend.

This is a digistamp but I'm afraid I have no idea where I got it from, but it's too cute for words eh?  I printed it out and coloured with Promarkers and added Diamond Glaze to the eyes and nose.  I die cut a piece of card with a window using Spellbinders square nesties and popped it up over the image.  The sentiment is computer generated and cut using Spellbinders Fancy Tags 1.  I added some Liquid Pearls as a finishing touch.  Here's a close up:

Now, pop on over to the Addicted to CAS blog to see all the wonderful cards the DT have made for your inspiration.  I'm looking forward to seeing your lovely cards over the next two weeks.

Hubby's birthday card

Hello all - just thought I'd share this card I've just made for my DH's birthday on Saturday.

I've used my Stampin Up Wetlands set which is NBUS (never before used schtuff!!!) that I bought at our SU Extravaganza a couple of weeks ago.  I've stamped the main image on some white card and then masked the bird whilst I sponged on the sky, water and ground.  I've added some reeds and used one of the smaller stamps of birds wading.  I die cut the image using my Spellbinders Majestic Elements dies, then die cut the same out of contrasting card which was then put through my eBosser with a wicker e/f.  I matted this onto the blue card and then added the main image (popped up for dimension) so you can see the blue through the swirly edges of the image.  The greeting is from the same set stamped onto die cuts from the Majestic Elements set.  I've added a ribbon and some Liquid Pearls to complete the card.

Thanks for dropping by.  It's a very dismal day here but very mild...........in fact we had the last of the runner beans out of our garden last night - how mad is that for November!!! lol

Pearl Anniversary card

Hello everyone from a very windy and wet Somerset!  It was such a lovely day yesterday we were hoping for more of the same today.............!

I had a commission to make a Pearl Anniversary card and here it is:

I've used my Stampendous "At the Altar" for the main image and Gina K "Always and Forever" for the sentiment on the front of the card.  I used Grand square nesties for the layers and on the top one and die cut the Spellbinders Quatrefoil die.  The corners are Spellbinders Gold Elements One and the embossing folder is an 8" Embossalicious e/f.  Pearl swirl, flowers and pins from my stash.  I made an envelobox to hold the card and used the same e/f and dies on that with the addition of some Liquid Pearls.

Thanks for dropping by.  Hope your week is going well.  Looking forward to the weekend as we have a Stampin Up Extravaganza on Saturday that we've organised for the girls in our club and then off to the Taunton Sincerely Yours craft show on Sunday.  My sister Val is coming down for the very heavily laden crafting weekend! lol

Less is More - White on White

Well here we are at the end of the week already.  I've just been outside picking my crab apples to make some jelly with but this year is a bumper crop and I have got a huge amount - far too many for me, so will be looking for someone who wants some!!!

I was just sorting out my Christmas dies and embossing folders and came across one folder and had a light bulb moment.............this week the Less is More challenge is:

White Christmas
For our challenge this week, we have chosen to add another parameter to our colour challenge and that is that the submissions must be Christmas related cards.
The colour is
WHITE on WHITE
We would like to remind everyone that submissions must adhere to the Guidelines set out above and be evidently Clean and Simple!
It's also a new month which means a new sponsor and this month we are excited that Stephanie from Clearly Besotted is our sponsor.  Clearly Besotted are Celebrating their first birthday this month too!

So here's what happened when I put my light bulb moment into practice:

I put a piece of Anna-Marie's pearl card through my Ebosser using a Crafts Too Poinsettia Frame and popped it up on an A6 tent fold card base.  I die cut a tag from my Spellbinders Fancy Tags 2 set and two lots of the Poppystamps Small Blooming Poinsettia (this is a really handy die especially if you use it with their Blooming Poinsettia set).  The sentiment, also cut from the pearl card, is from a Tattered Lace Christmas sentiments die set.  To finish off I've added some Liquid Pearls et voila!!!  lol

Thanks for visiting, I love reading all your comments.  Don't forget to visit tomorrow when we will be unveiling the new challenge at Addicted to CAS.

Addicted to CAS - #21

Hello everyone - it's that time again...........here is the latest challenge from Addicted to CAS.  Here are the details.  Your host is the very talented Harriet and here is the code word she's chosen:
This challenge is Sponsored by -

paper nest dolls blog

who are offering a prize of a
$25 gift voucher!

Both of my cards use digi images but I'm afraid I don't know where they originated.  I've printed these images out and used a simple frame for each.

For the violin I've used my square nesties and turned the central one into a diamond shape.  I die cut four strips of music using my MB Virtuoso Music die and sponged lightly with Distress Ink Old Paper.  These were then added around the frame.  The sentiment was computer generated and die cut using Petite Labels One and again sponged inside the label die.

For the umbrella image I used my square nesties and Labels Twenty-Seven and die cut the frame which I then put through my machine in a Cuttlebug music embossing folder.  I added some acetate to the inside of the frame onto which I'd stamped one of the stamps in the Raindrop Set (Designs by Ryn) using StazOn Timber Brown.  The border stamped on the base card is one of the background builder sets from Clearly Besotted.

Well, that's enough from me........it's time for you to pop on over to A2CAS to check out the inspiration the rest of the Design Team have come up with.  We can't wait to see your entries and visit your blogs.

Have a great weekend.

ADDICTED TO CAS - Challenge #20

Happy Saturday everyone - hopefully as you are reading this I'm just arriving at my hotel for the great Crafty Retreat organised by Oyster Stamps..........can't wait; wall to wall crafting with Paul Church, the amazing (and blingy!!!) Martine Smith, Neet Hickson, Jacqui Dennis and the fab Anna Marie - not to mention Tracey & Graham.

Anyway, back to business.  The last two weeks have flown by and there were some lovely entries for our Summer challenge, but it's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS and this time your host is the fabulous Florence who has chosen the code word:

Our Sponsor for this challenge is:
Grab a Banner

who are offering the winner FOUR images of their choice

I've used a Delicious Doodles image for my card which is the lovely scene of beach huts........this time of the year "Holiday" only meant one thing and yep anything beach, lazing around etc although some of my team mates obviously thought Christmas!!!  lol  I've printed off the image and coloured using Pan Pastels, die cut an aperture in a square piece of card using Spellbinders and then I embossed my Memory Box Big Splash die cut on the top and bottom of this card for some texture.  Both the sentiments were free digis that I've cut out and coloured with Pan Pastels.  I popped the frame up with d/s foam pads and did the same with the sentiments.

Please pop over to Addicted to CAS to see the great inspiration cards made by the Design Team.

Now it's your turn - lets see what amazing creations you come up with for this code word - as usual the only stipulation is the your card must be CLEAN & SIMPLE to qualify.  Can't wait to come and visit to say hi.  I'll be back after the weekend to catch up with you all and, hopefully, show you some photos.

Have a wonderful weekend and I'll see you soon.

Addicted to CAS - Challenge #19

Hello everyone.  We've whooshed around to Saturday once again and it's time for a new challenge at Addicted to CAS.

For this challenge your hostess is the creative Sue who has chosen the code word:

Our sponsor today is:
Inspired by Stamping
Joanna is offering this prize to the winner of the challenge - a $20 GIFT VOUCHER

PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO READ OUR RULES HERE SO YOU ARE IN THE RUNNING FOR THIS FABULOUS PRIZE!!

Here's my first DT card.  I've used a Stampin Up stamp (second one below) but it's obviously come adrift from it's box so I'm not sure what it's called.  I've stamped it in Memento ink on a scalloped circle die cut (which I then put through with a smaller scallop die to emboss the shape and then sponged with DI Tumbled Glass).  I've coloured using Flexmarkers, added some ribbon which has been added to the circle with a pearl brad.  The sentiment is SU Circle of Friendship and is really a Christmas sentiment but I masked the words in the centre before stamping it and then added a flower image.

For my second card I took a piece of cream card and used my nesties to die cut an aperture and then put it through my machine with an embossing folder (Spellbinders M-bossabilities Garden Lattice).  The sentiment is Stampin Up and was again die cut using the same nesties and for the mat I used the waste from the first die cut.  I stamped the couple sitting on the beach (Stampin Up) and coloured using my Flexmarkers.  I used Distress Inks for sponging the sun and sky.   I added the image to the back of the aperture and then popped the whole lot up using d/s foam onto the main A5 card.

Please go on over to Addicted to CAS to look at the inspirational cards the rest of the DT have made for you and then we all look forward to visiting your blogs to see your lovely creations.

Have a lovely weekend - happy crafting.
