Happy Wednesday to everyone and welcome to our new challenge over at Addicted to Stamps and More which is:
S P R I N G
Now, you have to understand that although all of us in this hemisphere acknowledge we are now very firmly in AUTUMN............ to all those Antipodeans it is now SPRING...... topsy turvey or what!!! lol Anyway lets play nicely and do what the esteemed Kylie asks!!!
My card is hopefully Spring-like enough for this challenge. I've taken a cream square card base and added a piece of cardstock in a deep yellow on top which was first embossed using a Cheery Lynn XL embossing plate called Foliage. I then rounded the corners and die cut a lighter piece of card with my Memory Box Spring Border die. I've used my Spellbinders Blossom dies for the main focal element of the card - again in a lighter piece of yellow card and smaller white card. This was topped off with another circle of the yellow. I've added roses and hatpins from my stash; the leaves have been punched using Nellie Snellen duo cutting and embossing punches. The ribbon is from my stash but actually bought from Lidl's a while ago - it's lovely and has pearls and wooden butterflies on it and, luckily, matched the colour of the card. The sentiment is from Stampin Up's set called Apothecary Art stamped in Mustard Seed DI.

Welcome to our new challenge over at Addicted to Stamps. This week's challenge is Make your Mark which gives you a free rein as long as you use your markers - Copics, Promarkers etc - to colour in your main image.
For my card I have used a digi stamp - Melissa by Sugar Nellie. I just love these images. She's been coloured with Flexmarkers and die cut using nesties. I've used my Creative Expressions Floral embossing folder to partially emboss the backing which is Bazzill card. The main card has been made up into an A5 using Anna-Marie's brushed satin card which is gorgeous. I have made the roses using the floral e/f and the leaves are punched using Nellie Snellen two stage punch and embosser. A dotty ribbon and some pearls finish the card off.

This week the challenge over at Less is More is ThreeShades of Green
I decided to use a die by Lea'bilities called Frame Swirl - I hope it counts as a shade of green because that's exactly the colour of the die!!! lol Originally I was just going to use the actual frame but really liked the negative shape from the centre so decided to put them together. The flower is made using my Xcut Botanical embossing punch and it has a brad through the centre. The leaves are made by using my Nellie Snellen two part punch and embosser. The sentiment is from my Stampin Up set "Punch Bunch" and it was stamped using Peeled Paint DI and clear embossed.
This weeks challenge over at Humbug Hall is paper weaving. Had to have a little think about this one but ended up with a heart shaped Christmas card. I started off using two pieces of light cardstock from my stash cut to 14cm by 9cm and I rounded the top of each piece (I used an old CD). I then made four cuts (giving 5 strips) from the bottom edge to about three quarters of the way up to the top. I then inked all the edges and used a swirl stamp over both pieces. I then put both pieces together at right angles weaving each strip over and under the co-ordinating strip on the other piece. I then fastened the loose ends and used d/s tape to attach it to a 6"x6" card base. I then cut around the heart shape. The cute baby polar bear and star are from Stamp addicts Polar Bears SA-6019. Coloured with Promarkers and die cut using nesties with matching scalloped mat behind. Flowers are from my stash and leaves were made using my Nellie Snellen punches. The sentiment is from Stampin Up Contempo Christmas set. I added a bow and matching ribbon.
I've just had the wonderful news that my youngest nephew, Keir, and his wife, Lara, are expecting their first baby. As you can imagine they are over the moon (as is my sister!!!). I thought I'd send them a card congratulating them on their achievement.........
Both the image and sentiment are digi stamps. Keir was trying to explain to me that the scan of the baby looked like a peanut in it's shell I thought this image of the baby in the pea pod was pretty appropriate. They don't know the sex of the baby so I have played safe and used a white and green palette. The background paper and white embossed frame are from my stash, as are the papers, dangling gems and flowers and I've used my Nellie Snellen embossing punches to make the leaves. Added some gems and ribbon and the card was finished.
This week over at Less is More the challenge is to design a card with one layer with a sentiment focus.
I've just bought a set of the Spellbinders Fancy Tags 2 and thought I'd use one of them to emboss a frame on the front of my card which I then coloured through the die using Distress Inks. The sentiment is from the Stampin Up set called Wonderful Words which I find myself going back to time and again. I used Versamark to stamp the sentiment and embossed with WOW silver glitter e/p. I then added some roses and the leaves were punched out using a Nellie Snellen two part punch.
