Hi Everyone - this is a really quick post tonight as I'm off out to the Creativity "Do" tomorrow. Although this is my second card for the Less is More Recipe Shaped card challenge it's actually especially for Kate!!!! who continues to egg me on to spend more money...........and actually succeeds!!! I've just got these lovely men themed stamps from Wild Rose Studios. This was a really quick card and I apologise for the quality of both the card and the photo but I was in a bit of a rush and if I had more time would have made a better fist of it! Anyway I couldn't resist this James Bond image and as the LIM challenge was a shaped card made mine like a drill (just for those who didn't realise.....!) and then stamped the image and decoupaged it onto the card. The sentiment is computer generated - and again I just couldn't resist this one!!! Thanks for dropping by. Hopefully I'll be back on Saturday, or soon thereafter, for the next LIM challenge where I'll tell you all about the DoCrafts Creativity Day tomorrow.
Happy crafting.

Less is More - Week 69 - Recipe
Hello everyone - hope you're all enjoying this fantastic weather we're having at the moment. As I've got a busy week ahead I thought I'd get my card for the Less is More challenge done and dusted and this is what they want:
Didn't have long to think about this before I decided to use my Spellbinders flowerpot dies. I die cut the actual card base with the largest die and then cut one medium and two small flowerpots. Whilst they were still in the die I inked them with Distress Inks making sure to shade more down one side to make them dimensional. I then used my scoreboard to put lines on the pots to define the top of the pot. The base card was looking a little plain so put it through my Joy with an embossing folder just on the top part. I then used Pinflair glue gel to attach them to the main card and then added flowers (from stash) and leaves punched out of left over cardstock. A piece of rickrack ribbon and a tag (punched) finished the card. Sentiment is from Stampin Up Silhouette Sentiments.
Thanks for dropping by. See you all soon.
We have a very simple recipe this week and that is simply to make a card which is
NOT A SQUARE
nor a rectangle for that matter.
What we're really trying to say is that we want a shaped card.

Less is More - Week 68 - Theme
A very warm hello to everyone out in blogland today - and I really mean that!!! It's really hot out there today and I've been doing some planting and was "glowing" ......... so thought I'd better come inside and cool down. Just finished off my card for the Less is More challenge which this week is to make a card for a baby or child. As I've made a few baby cards recently I decided to make a child's card and decided to use this teddy bear fishing stamp for the main focus of the card. Unfortunately all it's got on the side of the stamp is copyright Bramley Crafts/MH but no name of the character. I stamped it using Rich Cocoa Memento ink and coloured with my Letraset Flexmarkers and then cut out by hand. The mat is a scalloped square nestie and I used a Martha Stewart punch on the border and added a ribbon. On the base card I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and then scored lines down each side. I've added some Glossy Accents to the jar and the teddy's eyes. The sentiment was computer generated.
Hope you're all enjoying this glorious weather - fingers crossed there's more to come.
Happy crafting.

Winter Wonderland - Embossing
Hello everyone - hope you're having as brilliant a day as we are in Somerset.......... blue skies and wall to wall sunshine.
The challenge over at Winter Wonderland is embossing of any type so for my card I decided to use my Santa's sleigh and reindeer stencil and Dreamweaver gold embossing paste. When it was dry it was matted onto some gold mirri card and then onto a piece of kraft cardstock which had been run through my Joy using a Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder (unfortunately I don't think it shows up on the picture for some reason). The main card is a DL with some gold embossed holly design vellum held in place by brads. The sentiment is computer generated and punched using my SU word window. I've added some punched holly leaves with red gems and a poinsettia flower. The last touch was the ribbon from my stash.
Right, think it may be time to get out in the garden to do some work. See you all soon.

Just a quick post before the duck races!!!!! lol
Hi there bloggers - this is just a very quick post before we go down to let all the ducks race down the river...........
Went to a great workshop yesterday at the Blackmore Vale Embroidery Guild. It was run by tutor Jan Tillett and was great fun. We were doing machine embroidered flower borders and this is what I came home with at the end of the day - I did add some hand stitching last night but that's all.
Thanks to the lovely Kate at Downrightcrafty who suggested this would be ideal for the
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge this week so am going to enter it.
Hope you've all had a great weekend. Will be back during the week with my LIM challenge card and another couple if I have time.

Another one layer 3 stamps.............
Hi folks - must be on a roll!!! I've recently bought a Martha Steward Stamp around the Page set which was totally new to me and I'm not sure how many people know about these?? Anyway I hadn't had a chance to try it out and thought this would be ideal for both the Less is More One Layer 3 stamps challenge and the St Luke's Charity Cards Challenge of One Layer. I've used two stamps from the MS set - the corner stamp and the border stamp and the sentiment is from my Stampin Up Afterthoughts set - all stamped using Crushed Olive Distress Ink.
Thanks for popping in.

Less is More - Week 67 - One Layer 3 stamps
Hello all - well in between being out in the garden planting up all kinds of seed and veggie plants (whilst we've actually got some sun and dry weather........) and trying desperately to reorganise my craft room - I just had to take a break and make my Less is More challenge card. Luckily it also fits in with the St Luke's Charity Cards challenge as they are both ONE LAYER with the additional stipulations of using THREE STAMPS - and as Mandi & Chrissie say "not four, not two... but 3!"............. so here we go.
I decided to use my Stampin Up Always Elegant stamp set and I've used the main focal image, the sentiment and the block border - I've heat embossed all the images with copper detail e/p although I'm not sure that shows up in the photo. This is a really elegant (as it says!!) set and would be lovely used for wedding invitations.
Thanks for dropping by - hope you've all had a great weekend.

Less is More - Week 66 - Colour Challenge
Hello everyone - Happy Friday! Just thought I'd round off the week with another card for the Less Is More challenge which is YELLOW..........
This was a very quick card but I wanted to use a couple of new acquisitions! The embossing folder is Tim Holtz Alterations Floral Frame and I've just highlighted some of the flowers with a Promarker. The stamp is from Little Claire Designs and is called Swirly Whirly - Poppies which I stamped in Mustard Seed and clear embossed and then coloured with Promarkers. The image was die cut using a new set of dies which are unnamed but I got them at the Shepton show a couple of weeks ago - they look very much like Spellbinders but were a fraction of the cost!!! The addition of some dotty ribbon finished the card.
Hope you all have a great weekend - fingers crossed for a bit of sun..........

Hi there everyone. Well, this week's challenge over at Less is More is a colour challenge -
and the chosen colour this time is
Y E L L O W
Other colours may be in evidence as long as the main focus colour is yellow.
I've just received some of the gorgeous Wild Rose Studio Stamps this morning and so decided to play with Bella and Butterfly. I've stamped her using Memento London Fog and coloured with Promarkers. The image was cut out and mounted onto some gold card. The sentiment is by Hobby Arts and stamped in Mustard Seed DI and clear embossed. I then added some ribbon and gems.
Hope you're all having a great weekend. Thanks for dropping by.

Hello Everyone - just managed to finish another card for the Less is More Sketch Challenge and this time I've chosen the circle sketch. It's a very simple card - 6" scalloped cream card blank, die cuts using my Spellbinders scalloped and plain circle dies and the lovely Memory Box Floral Circle die. I added some pearls to the centres of the flowers. The sentiment is from Stampin Up Oval All.
