Do it with Digi's - Animal Magic

The latest challenge over at Do it with Digi's is Animal Magic.  Recently I've managed to put all my digi images into folders because they were all over the place so I just popped into my Animals file and found this cute image of a bear with a huge ice cream cone which was a freebie from Anne and the other day the lovely Paulette at Create with TLC gave away a sentiment which fitted perfectly with the image.  I have made a box easel card and die cut the image and sentiment and their mats with nesties.  The image was coloured using ProMarkers.  I used a snow writer on the ice cream - left it to dry and then heated it for a raised effect.  I then added a few flowers and a tassel to the drawer.

Thanks for dropping by - happy crafting!

PS  Thanks to everyone who left messages wishing my printer better........... it worked!!!  It's feeling fine and dandy and is doing what it does best - printing in every colour!!!  lol

Do it with Digi's - It's all about the boys..................

The current challenge over at DIWD's is It's all about the boys.  I have used a John Byers Nostalgia digistamp which was a free download from DoCrafts.  I have made a centre stepper card and hunted around the internet to find a free image of a football ground.  I then printed this out to the same size as the centre stepper card and cut it into three - the centre panel and two outers.  The two friends have been coloured with Promarkers and cut out and stuck to the centre panel with silicone glue.  The grass was achieved by using one of my quilling dies to add a fringe to the green textured paper.  The rosette has been die cut using my Tim Holtz paper rosettes die.

Have a great weekend and enjoy the sunshine!!

Acetate and Fairies

I've been a bit short of time this week but think I will just scrape by timewise to enter this card for  Do it with Digis challenge.  The challenge is for  I can see clearly now either using acetate or an aperture.  I was going to enter it into the Die Cut Dreams challenge of Fairies/Angels but realised I'm too late for that one - never mind, there's always next week!!  lol

This time I've used a square blank linen card and die cut an aperture using nesties in the front of the card.  I have then die cut a frame from embossed mirri card for the front of the card.  The fairy image is downloaded from The Clipart Fairy and I took her into CraftArtist to resize and give her a nice stary sky background.  I then printed her out onto printable acetate and placed her behind the frame.  I then made it into a shaker card and used silver glitter for the shaker part which I don't think you can see from the photograph.  The sentiment is from a clear stamp set and heat embossed with Distress e/p Stream.  I punched out photocorners from the same card as the frame using my EK success punch.  The final addition were snowflakes die cut using a Whimsy Stamps Frameology die and then coloured using Copic BG05.

Many thanks for dropping by and I wish everyone a fantastic weekend.

Do It With Digis - Fairies, Pixies and Elves

The latest challenge over at Do it with Digis is Fairies, Pixies and Elves.  I had to hunt around all my digi images to come up with something nice for this card and I found a lovely mushroom house and a baby which I think looks remarkably like a pixie.  Unfortunately I don't know where either of them came from and I do wish that artists would actually include their name on the downloadable images.

I first copied and pasted the two images into Word and then printed them out.  I have used a set of nesties to die cut the image leaving the little pixie outside the frame.  I left the images inside the die and sponged some Shabby Shutters Distress Ink around the edge.  This was then coloured in using Promarkers and matted onto the larger size die cut.  I printed out the mushroom house again and cut out the image leaving the negative space which I then sprayed Crafters Companion Spray and Sparkle Iridescent through.  Unfortunately when I looked at the photo this spray doesn't show up very well at all which is a shame.  The backing papers and border strip are from NitWit Collections Cotton Candy Kisses which was a free giveaway with a magazine and I joined the two pieces with a border strip of bazzill card punched with Martha Stewart Wild Flowers deep edger punch.  I added a button and ribbon bow.  The sentiment comes from Crafts4fun.nl and I used my Stampin Up oval and scalloped oval punches.

Do it with Digi's - digital background with Tilda or Edwin

The latest challenge over at Do it with Digi's is to use a digital background with Tilda or Edwin.  My first task was to find a digital background as this wasn't something I had used before.  After a bit of a search round I found some lovely backgrounds at a place called "Make it Crafty" in Australia.

I decided to use this lovely background of a tree branch with blossom and two birds and a swing.  I printed this out and coloured with Promarkers and then used the image of Tilda with large ribbon which was also coloured with Promarkers.  I cut her out and used silicone to place her on the seat of the swing.  The main image was cut out using nesties.  The backing paper was from my stash and I have used Klever Konstruction plastic flowers and a matching bow.  The sentiment was computer generated and I used Stampin Up punches to cut it out.

Thanks for stopping by.

Boys & Girls come out to play

Challenge number 6 over at Do It With Digi's is Boys & Girls come out to play.

I decided to use this digi stamp from Di's Digi's which was a freebie.  Coloured with Promarkers and die cut using nesties and mounted on a piece of sage green Bazzill card.  I decided to make it up into a twisted easel so I scored and folded the top flap of a 6" square card diagonally.  This is covered with some paper I had in my stash and I used the remainder on the inside and created a border out of pink bazzill using a Martha Stewart punch.  The pinwheel flower was created using the new Tim Holtz die.  The sentiment has been die cut using Whimsy Stamps ticket die and sponged with a pink chalk inkpad.  The addition of some flowers and a parchment butterfly completed the card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Valentine's card

The challenge over at Do it with Digis is Valentines.

I have used pearlised white cardstock and an embossing board to create the embossed areas of the card and then embossed the central heart onto red glitter card before cutting out and matting on the card and did the same with the ribbon bow.  I added gold peel-offs to accentuate the shapes and paper flowers to the rose.  The image is from Anne Bodil coloured with Promarkers and the ticket sentiment is from Sentiments4You.  The dragonfly charm is from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by.

Pink & Girly

The challenge over at Do it with Digi's is Pink & Girly.

I have used a digistamp from Di's Digi Designs.  The ticket sentiments are from the lovely Lynne over at Sentiments4You.  I have used a 5" x 7" card blank and covered it with papers from the Papermania Summer Bloom set.  The top paper was put through my die cutting machine in a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I used some pretty lace across the join in the two papers.  I coloured the image, which is called Maisie with Teddy, with Promarkers and cut her out using nesties - this was matted onto two other nestie shapes which have also been embossed.  The addition of some pink roses, some ribbon and gems finished off the card.

Thanks for stopping by.

New Beginnings

The challenge over at Do It With Digi's is New Beginnings.  The lovely Lynne over at Sentiments 4 You is kindly giving away a sentiment for this challenge so if you fancy a go pop over and visit her.  The only rule for the challenge is that you must only use digi stamps.

I decided to use this digi stamp of a house in the woods and thought it could be a new home card.  Unfortunately I don't know where it came from........ it would be so much easier if people giving away free digi stamps would actually put their name/blog on it when you download so you could actually acknowledge them.  Anyway I printed it out on pearl photo paper and it is matted onto copper mirri and dark brown cardstock.  The backing paper is from my stash but I think it's from Graphicus.  I imported the sentiment into a graphics programme to allow me to change the text from black to brown/sepia to match the main image and printed it out, again on pearl photo paper, and matted it on the same card as the main image.  I added a border at the side using a SU edger punch.  I then added a flourish which is a Sizzix die cut, some flowers, gems and ribbon to finish off the card.

Thanks for looking.
