Well, it's that time again.........another challenge at Addicted to CAS. This week your hostess is the lovely Harriet from Alley Cat Cards and the word she has chosen is:
Geometry - the branch of mathematics concerned with the properties and relations of points, lines, surfaces, solids, and higher dimensional analogs.
Geometric - 1. of or relating to geometry, or according to its methods. 2. (of a design) characterized by or decorated with regular lines and shapes.
Hmm mm, I thought!!! I was never very good at maths at school and didn't think I had anything to match this challenge, so went ahunting on the web and came up with the following fantastic image......can you guess who it is???? lol
I printed out the image on my laser printer and then gold foiled it. I then used some hexagon dies to cut it out and layered it up. The sentiment is computer generated and I used the smaller dies. I've embossed the square card blank with Craft Concepts Stained Glass e/f and added a ribbon. I took several photos of this but it seemed whichever way I took it, it either glared with the gold foiling or just looked dull, so I am afraid this was the best one. Can't wait to see your creations. Enjoy. Happy crafting.
Happy Saturday everyone - hope you're looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Where do the weeks go? It's time for another challenge at Addicted to CAS and this week the theme has been chosen by the lovely Caz. Here are the details:
Our amazing sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps!!!! They are generously offering you a pack of 7 digi's from their store!!!
I've made two cards, both with images from Bugaboo. The first is using their SCENEIT Ladybugs and on the second I have used their Silhouette Hummingbird Flowers digistamp.
I printed out the ladybugs digi onto printer card and coloured with Flexmarkers. I then used a Spellbinders nestie to die cut the image in the shape of a flower and before I took it out of the die I sponged DI Dried Marigold around the edges. I added Crystal Lacquer to the flower centres, the ladybugs, butterflies and water drops on the petals and leaves. The sentiment is from the Stampin Up Circle of Friendship set and was die cut and sponged as above. It looked a little stark just putting it on a plain white card blank and then I remembered I had an embossing folder that had flowers of a similar shape......so off I went and it was exactly where it was supposed to be.....hehe. It is the Creative Expressions EF-004 Floral e/f. I placed the card blank in it so the central panel would be embossed and then I embossed a line top and bottom of the design. Image and sentiment were popped up on d/s foam pads.
For the second card I printed off the silhouette image on my laser printer and then foiled it with a lovely blue foil. It was then mounted on a matching piece of mirri card which I die cut using my Spellbinders Lacey Circles. The sentiment was computer generated and foiled. It was then die cut and matted using my Spellbinders D-Lites Ornamental Tags 2 dies. The embossing down each side was done using my Stampin Up Simply Scored Borders Plate. Please pop on over to the Addicted to CAS blog and see what lovely cards the DT have come up with and we look forward to seeing all your fantastic creations and visiting your blogs.

Beverley has been kind enough to offer a fabulous prize -
This gorgeous digital collection is up for grabs AS WELL as your choice of 3 x digital paper collections!!!
For my inspiration card I was lucky enough to be able to use the beautiful English Country Garden digistamps together with their Eclectic Mix Summer papers.
I started with an 8" scalloped card blank and put it through my eBosser in an A4 embossing folder. I then used a Die'sire Embossalicious e/f called Regal Frame and embossed a piece of card which is 6" square. I printed out four of the papers and then resized the flowers and butterfly and printed each onto different papers using my laser printer. These were then foiled (which I hope you can see from the photos). I did the same for the sentiment and punched it out with my EK Success Labels punch. The finishing touch was some White Opal Liquid Pearls to make the butterfly trail.
To be in the running to win this wonderful prize, please do not forget to check our challenge rules HERE.
Please use the Code Word provided
for your inspiration and remember to keep your project Clean and Simple.
Now, how are you going to use embossing on your project? Will it be dry
or heat or both? We can't wait to see what you come up with.
