Something that moves.............

A very quick post as we're off to our Stampin Up Extravaganza Day today with the lovely Jenny Moors - if you click on her link you can go and see some of the amazing things she makes.  She works us very, very hard til we're almost crafted out (but it's so worth it!!!) and then I've got to scoot off to feed between 70 and 80 villagers at our annual Neighbourhood Watch BBQ - can just imagine how I'll feel when I eventually get home!!!

Anyhow, onto important things.  At our club night on Wednesday we had to make a "card that moves".............. Anne took artistic license with this and produced a card with a bicycle on it!!!  Cheeky...... lol

A very fuzzy close up of the bobbin - sorry!!!
At the Creativity day Jill and I went to the other Friday someone mentioned about making penny sliders and how they stick more often than not but had heard an amazing trick......... go to your local Poundland and pick up a pack of 20 plastic bobbins (the type you use in your sewing machine) and you have got your ready made mechanism already - brilliant or what?  Anyway I thought I'd give it a go and it really does work - the spinner moves round at a rate of knots and also spins as it's going - no mean feat.  For this card I've used papers from my stash and cut out the main circle with my EK Success circle cutter stopping just short of cutting all through (leaving about an inch or a bit more).  The stamped image on the spinner is from the Papermania Urban Botanical Prints stamp set and I've punched out the butterfly from the backing paper using my EK Success 3 stage butterfly punch.  Sentiment and punch for it is Stampin up.  Ribbon and gems from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by - as soon as I've recovered I will tell you all about our day tomorrow and then will be back with my card for the new blog challenge Addicted to Stamping.

Have a great weekend - don't get blown awayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!! lol

Christmas Stocking...........

This weeks challenge over at Bah Humbug is Christmas Stockings which may or may not be a coincidence as for my spot prize I received some Christmas die cuts (with Christmas stockings included) and some huge gems plus a lovely handmade card - whose a lucky girl then?  lol

I just had to use some of my spot prize for this card.  I started off with an A5 red card which I put through my Big Shot in a Papermania embossing folder so the left hand side of the card got embossed.  I added a piece of My Mind's Eye card to the right hand side and added some red and white ribbon.  I embossed some gold mirri using the same embossing folder and used a Martha Steward corner punch.  A piece of red foiled holly card was put across the middle of the mirri card and three of the Christmas stockings added using foam pads.  I tied three ribbons to top the stockings.  The sentiment is from a Papermania clear stamp set (Silent Night) and to finish off I used some of the smaller gems that I received in my spot prize.

Thanks again to Irene, Ann and Max over at Bah Humbug for all these great challenges and for my goodie parcle.

Heartfelt stamps and nesties blossom dies

I have just bought a new stamp set by Heartfelt which match up with the Nesties blossoms dies.  If you go over to YouTube you can see Peggy demonstrating them brilliantly.  Haylie-Jo of CropStop in the States is selling these new stamps but she is great and I got mine within 5 days of ordering them from her.  Each set is approximately £10 and they come premounted and cut which is brilliant.

First of all I took an A5 card blank and covered with some Graphicus paper.  I then took a piece of SU card and edged the top with a Martha Stewart punch.  The bottom of this piece was stamped with the SU Pocket Silhouettes set.  I stamped the roses onto pink SU card and then cut them out with my Nesties blossoms dies.  I also cut out some leaves again using Nesties together with some fern leaves which were punched.  The roses had some Ice Stickles rubbed over them and then placed on the card using silicone.  The butterfly was placed on a piece of the backing paper and cut out and I added a ribbon bow and some pearls.  The sentiment is a SU stamp which was cut out using my SU scalloped square punch.

Thanks for looking.

Nellies dies and SU stamps

Afraid I've not done much crafting in the last week as I've been laid low with a chest infection. The other day our great postie Dave delivered my long awaited Nellies dies so I was itching to have a play with them.

I also haven't had a chance to try out any of my new Stampin Up sets that I received at Christmas so this was an ideal time to try them both together.

I covered an A5 card with a piece of Graphicus paper, cut a strip of SU green card and used my SU wheel to create a flourish border which I then clear embossed. This was matted onto a piece of white card which had been punched with a Martha Steward lattice window border punch. I then tied a piece of cream ribbon around the centre of this and placed it in the centre of the card. I cut out two Nellies frames and used the flourish from the SU Baroque Motifs set as a background using Mellow Moss ink. I then stamped the bird from the Touch of Nature set in Old Olive once onto each of the frames and then twice onto white card for each frame. These were coloured with copics, the first layer I decoupaged the whole image and the second layer only the bird. I then stamped the phrase from the Touch of Nature set and matted onto green card. The finishing touch was three pearls at the top right corner.
