Handbag card
I saw someone on C&C yesterday selling handbag templates. They looked far too easy to use a template for so thought I'd have a go at one. This is my attempt and it looks remarkably like the ones they had on the show.................. that's saved me £14.94!!!!! lol
I used card from my stash, peel offs and my SU punches for the large flowers and the oval and scalloped oval for the sentiment.

Shutter Card
I really should have been doing other things today but I really fancied having a go at a shutter card. I got the template from Jenny our Stampin Up demonstrator a while ago.
I used card and paper from my stash. The main image on the front, including the butterfly, is from an Elusive Images set and the others are unnamed cling stamps. I really enjoyed doing it until I realised I hadn't used double sided card to make the main card from!!!!!!! It then took me twice as long to find some matching paper and cut it exactly to match the front............ won't do that again in a hurry!!! lol

Anniversary Cards
I have two wedding anniversaries coming up next week and so have been busy making cards to mark the occasions. One is for our friends Angela and Stuart and the other is my sister Val and brother-in-law Jim. I am only posting one photo today as I know Val looks at my blog and I don't want to spoil the surprise!!
For Angela & Stuart's card I stamped the image onto acetate, put it through my Xyron machine and added gold leaf to the back of the image. I coloured the flowers using Dufex brush markers. This was mounted on to copper mirri and two shades of orange card. The backing paper is from Elusive Images and I used my X-Cut border system with the scallop and heart dies to create a border which I backed with copper mirri. I ran a piece of ribbon through my printer to add "Happy Anniversary". Flowers were out of my stash and coloured to match the orange/copper theme; the sentiment is a Stampin Up stamp and cut out using SU punches. I added three "blobs" of copper Stickles to finish off the card.
Thanks for looking.

Sad occasions
A friend of mine's daughter works as a nurse in Dorchester Hospital where she deals with still born births. They have a memorial book and send cards to the parents. A little while ago I was asked to provide these cards and I must say it is really difficult to choose what to put on them. I have just made another batch and used images from Joanna Sheen's Heavenly Cards CD and various other CD's including Debbi Moore's Flowers for all Occasions. I have also used rubber stamps of butterflies and the like as well. As I say, it is really difficult making these cards knowing what the parents are going through.

65th Word Album
Well, we seem to have an awful lot of 65th birthdays this year - of course these are all much older friends!!!!! lol
On the 25th it is our friend Steve's 65th. He and Linda moved over to Kuala Lumpur nearly two years ago now - a bit like a gap year (or two) and we really miss them, although they have been back a couple of times and we have managed to catch up with them.
Steve is cricket mad (or should I just say mad????) so I have made him a 65th word album with cricket as the main theme. I downloaded some photos of various cricket matches and tiled them into background paper using My Craft Studio facilities. I had various embellishments which were added and I used my Bind-it-all to put it together. I also managed to get a silver charm (on the front page) of stumps, cricket bat and ball, so hopefully that is something he can put on his keyring after his birthday. I added metallic letters to the wire comb spelling out his name.
It's been posted early because of the strikes over here so hope it arrives in good time for him.
Thanks for looking :o)
Shoebox Challenge
It's been a little while since I last posted - life seems to have been really hectic with one thing and another. At our club night last week we gave the girls a shoebox challenge to complete. This is where everyone gets a bag with exactly the same elements in it and they have to make a card using at least a part of everything in the bag. They can also use extra items that they have brought with them. It is absolutely amazing at the end of the night how you can get so many different cards from exactly the same ingredients!! Here is my effort.

Baby Card
It's our craft club night on Wednesday and the "homework" we set the girls last month was to make a baby card so here's my take on the theme.
I used a photo I already had and then printed on vellum the sentiment. Used card from my stash and put some of the card through my Big Shot with an embossing folder. Punched out various flowers from card and bazzill and added some gems and a ribbon.

Wedding Card
I have been asked to make a wedding card and I have used a lovely foam stamp from La Blanche of a bride kneeling. I stamped in Versafine Sepia onto cream card and then mounted this onto gold mirri and gold glitter card. Over the top I have put parchment and the ribbons in each corner are from a Joanna Sheen set as is the sentiment. I have glittered the flowers in her hair, boddice and sleeve on both the main image and over the parchment. Then added a gold ribbon to the side to finish off.
Recycled Christmas Cards
Don't know about you but I absolutely hate throwing away beautifully hand crafted cards of any kind - just knowing that person has taken so much trouble to make you a card is wonderful. Well, my box was getting so full that I thought it would be nice to recycle these cards. I had a marathon session recycling everyday cards and actually made 52!! Now I have started on recycling my Christmas cards and want to get them finished before I start on making my own ones. Here's a sample that I have completed so if anyone spots a familiar looking card I do hope you will take it as a compliment.
Veggie Mad!!!!
I have been really busy over the last couple of weeks, hence no posting for a while. Yesterday I had to stage my entries for the Bath & West Gardening Show - carrots, parsnips, tomatoes etc etc. In the past I have been lucky enough to win prizes and I am keeping my fingers crossed for this weekend. I will find out on Sunday if I've been successful. Thought you might like to see a photo of some of the rejected veggies that weren't up to standard..................
Back to the crafting now!!! LOL
Thanks for stopping by.
