It's the little things................

Hello from a very wet and windy Somerset.........hope everyone is safe and well out in blogland.  Happy valentine's Day to you all.

Had to pop by to share a quick post with you today.  After looking, considering, saying no, looking and considering again I actually bought a Brother Scan N Cut machine.  Now I did put a whole lot of thought into this as my friend Jan and I bought a Pazzles Inspiration a few years ago but neither of us could get on with it so it's been sitting in the corner gathering dust.  I think the main problem was that you needed it to be attached to a computer and the actual programme was pretty complicated.  It was one of those things when if you didn't get good results you were reluctant to use it.

Anyway you can see why I ummed and ahhed about this.  The main reason that I was convinced was the fact that you can stamp an image, scan it into the machine and it actually cuts that image out...........PERFECTLY!!!!

It's been sitting on my worktop for a few days partly because I didn't want to be disappointed and also I wanted to have time to dedicate to playing with it.  And that came this morning.......took my heart in my hands and plugged it in.  First came the test cut...........which worked.  Then came the big test, for me anyway, so I stamped this gorgeous stork from the February release at Clearly Besotted, scanned the image in and did a direct cut.  This is the result:

I did a little happy dance - I was so pleased.  I suppose you can expect trial and error period when using a new machine but I can't tell you how delighted I was with the result.

Okay, that's me signing off - time to have another play!

Happy crafting.

  7. So glad you are happy with your new toy, Karendipity! Those machines take cards to a whole nother level. I'm surprised there aren't lots of challenges just dedicated to card crafters who use their machines because there are so many using them now. Stamps and dies and scissors and markers can't compare to things that computers can do. They even have precolored images now!! It's so interesting, and will continue to be so interesting, to see all the new things coming out.

Enjoy! Happy Valentine's Day! And darn that weather! I keep praying for sunshine for you guys!! Hugs, Darnell

  9. So glad the machine is so easy to use ... looks like a perfect cut to me! I'm still learning lots with the Silhouette Cameo. Watched a video yesterday about how to cut an image from my computer and hope to give that a try soon (basically the same as you cutter). Fussy cutting might be a thing of the past soon for both of us :) Loll xx

  10. Oh you naughty thing !!! I can't believe you got another machine !!! I had a look at this a while ago but it looked too complicated for me plus the Cameo can do something similar and goodness knows Im still learning how to use that. Looks like it did a fantastic job and look forward to seeing more.
