More wildlife and a vote please.......

Hi everyone

Hope you're all keeping cool!!!  Not often we have to say that eh?  Just wanted to ask your opinion.  Next weekend our local horticultural society have their annual show and one of the sections is photography with the title "Insect".  Soooooo, as I am entering quite a few things I decided to have a go at this one as well. Anyway, I am a bit torn between three photos and thought I'd ask your opinions on which one you think I should choose.  Here they are:

Photo #2

Photo #3
If you're wondering what flower these bees love so much they are leek flowers............I grow them every year just for their flower heads as the bees just adore them.  Strange but true!

What do you think?  Let me know and I'll take the one with the highest number of votes.  I'll let you know how I get on!!!

Golden weddings

Hi everyone - well I have escaped into my craft room for the first time in nearly a week.  We have had visitors here for the last 5 days and they've just gone home, so inbetween all the washing and ironing I thought I'd share a couple of special cards I was asked to make for a Golden Anniversary.

My friend Debbie asked me to make a special card for her Mum & Dad's Golden Wedding Anniversary and also one suitable for her Dad to give her Mum.  Here's what I came up with.

This is for her Mum & Dad:

I've tried making card stands from card before now but find they don't actually hold the card very well unless it is light so I had in my stash some small black plastic stands (originally for paperweights) and got Tony to spray one gold - I was so pleased with it as it matched the card perfectly and was much more sturdy than the card ones.  I feel he may have a few more to do!!! lol

This one is for her Mum from her Dad:

Well, just off to load up the washing machine again!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Happy crafting.

Addicted to CAS - #43

Hello Everyone - I'm scheduling this card as we have friends visiting and am not sure what I will be up to on Saturday morning but we're hoping the weather is as glorious as forecast!!!

Well, it's time for another challenge and this week it's been set by the lovely Jaydee who has chosen the code word:

Our amazing sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps!!!! They are generously offering you a pack of 7 digi's from their store!!!

and we are lucky enough to have Cathy - as our Guest Designer

My card for this challenge is very simple.  I decided to use a Stamping Bella set called "Uptown Couple Brett and Brenda get Married".

I stamped the couple in Versamark and heat embossed using WOW Ultra High Metallic Silver e/p.  I coloured the couple using some metallic watercolour paints and added some Liquid Pearls to the flowers. The sentiment came with the set and again is heat embossed.  I fussy cut the couple and mounted onto a Tattered Lace Westminster die.  I embossed the main card using an Embossalicious embossing folder and basically that is it!!! lol

Can't wait to see what you all come up with for this word - it's so versatile that I'm sure we are going to get some stunners.

Have a great weekend whatever you are doing.

Happy crafting.

KYLIE'S BIRTHDAY PARTY

Hello everyone - it's a big shout out as it's our esteemed leader Kylie's birthday today - Happy, Happy Birthday Kylie.  Hope you have a wonderful day and that you get a very pleasant surprise with your birthday party which the fabulous Loll has organised for you.

Here is the card that I've made for Kylie (although I might have just sent it to her old home, but as it's only a couple of doors away from where she lives now I am hoping that it gets to her safely.........Kylie - please knock on number 91 and retrieve it in case they haven't already delivered it!!! oops!).

So hope you've got a cuppa as this is a bit picture heavy but I wanted to show you the whole card which is difficult to get in one shot.

I've made a shaped card using my new Tonic Ornate Elegance Header Fold dies.  All the d/p is from my First Edition "New Leaf" pad.  The centre is made up of two ovals from my MFT Stitched Oval Stax.  On the top one I have die cut the Happy Birthday out of the oval and then cut several other layers, glued them together and then re-inserted them back into the oval.  The flower die is MB Glorious Gerber Daisies.  I have die cut Kylie's name using MB Large Classic alphabet dies

This is the card as it would normally stand - a type of zigzag.

This looks quite strange but the left fold goes backwards and the right comes forwards.

This is the card laying flat.

A close up of the die cut sentiment.  The greeting is on the back side of this oval.

Showing the dimension

Hope you have a wonderful day Kylie and that this little birthday party shows how much people think of you.

Hugs.

Addicted to CAS - Challenge # 42

Hello everyone - hope you're having a great start to your weekend.

It's the start of our new challenge at Addicted to CAS and your hostess today is the talented Shana and the theme she has chosen for this challenge is:

Our Sponsor:

http://www.whimsystamps.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=13_38

Prize is 5 free digis

It's the start of a new month and that means we have a new Guest Designer for July.  Please welcome Cathy (Cathy's Card Spot)!

"Hi everyone, I was thrilled at being asked to be a guest at Addicted to CAS. I've been making cards for many years and am still developing my style, but I do love clean and simple designs. I also LOVE die-cuts and embossing and am enjoying playing with inky techniques too.
There are so many inspirational designers and challenges out there and ATCAS is one of my favourites. I hope you enjoy playing along with this week's code word.
I decided to go with a male themed card for this challenge as I always think blue for sky and blue always seems to equate to men for some reason!!! lol

Anyway here's what I came up with:

I went with a watercoloured background by swiping my inks on a craft mat, spritzing with water and then putting my watercolour cardstock face down on the inks.  The stamp is Sail Away from Stampin Up and I used my Clear Wink of Stella on the sails (although not sure you can see this).  I decided to cut the panel into four sections and matted onto white, dark blue and lighter blue mats.  The sentiment was computer generated and I cut it as a pennant by putting all three layers together and cutting through........then cutting the straight end slightly shorter for each mat (at least you get all your pointy ends matching!).  The addition of a button and some bakers twine - oh, and some liquid pearls finished off the card.

Please pop on over to the Addicted to CAS blog to see what all the other DT girls have come up with and check out what Cathy (our GDT) has designed for you.

Enjoy your weekend and happy crafting.

Happy Birthday Dippy

As you all probably know by now (!!!) it's Darnell's birthday............if you didn't, why not???  It's all over blogland!

Here's my card for Dippy (sorry but we have pet names for each other!!! lol).

I've made her a flip card using my Tattered Lace Westminster dies which are so pretty.  There is a set of three dies - the square outer with the cut out corners, the middle circular lacy design and then a smaller circular die - you also get the lovely corner die to match.  I am sure you all know how to make these flip cards but if anyone wants to know how to do them let me know and I can post the instructions.  Now I need to make a confession...............I stamped the central motif in Delicata Golden Glitz but I can't remember what the stamp is!  Senior moment........again!  On the back of the card you can just see the sentiment/greeting.  I added a bit of bling as well.   I do hope she's received the card as I was a little tardy in posting it but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

There are two parties going on for Darnell.  Pop over to Bev's who has a celebration at Happy Dance and Ardyth has a Mr Linky at Maskerade for you all to link up your birthday wishes.

Hope you have an absolutely wonderful birthday Dippy..............mwah!!! lol
